Medical Office Administrator (MOA) - Permanent Part-Time
Job Summary:
Q’wemtsín Health Society is seeking an organized and reliable Medical Office Administrator to join our team of interdisciplinary health care professionals on a permanent part time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilling a myriad of administrative duties including scheduling, screening patients, filing, and billing support. We are seeking a team player who assists medical practitioners with the smoother operation and flow for patient visits and care.
Duties:
- Scheduling and confirming client appointments
- Maintaining and updating all patient medical records
- Maintaining exam rooms
- Screening and preparing patients for appointments
- Assisting with replenishing medical supplies
- Assists Senior MOA with other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Medical Office Administrator certificate
- Minimum of two years’ experience
- Demonstrates ability to utilize and understand Medical Terminology
- Ability to use a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality in working with others
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word and Excel applications
- Demonstrated proficiency in MedAccess or similar electronic medical records software
- Knowledge of Secwépemc culture is an asset
Additional Requirements:
- Possess valid British Columbia driver’s license and submit current drivers abstract
- Police Information check with Vulnerable Sector screening will be required

Employment Opportunity - Permanent Full-Time
Home and Community Care Registered Nurse
Q’wemtsin Health Society (QHS) is an assembly of health care professionals who believe in providing quality, client-centred care to our Secwépemc communities through the provision of holistic health services. Located at the heart of Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc our clinic acts as a one-stop health shop for community members. Over the last 21 years, becoming a pivotal agent in supporting health and wellness for the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, Skeetchestn Indian Band and Whispering Pines/Clinton Indian Band.
Purpose:
To work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team by performing routine nursing services such as assessments, development of care plans, and provision of personal and nursing care to clients in the home and community setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assessments and referrals – plans, delivers, and evaluates professional nursing services in homes to individuals and/or groups
- Provides health education and treatment services to individuals, caregivers, and groups to increase knowledge regarding health and to promote and enhance community health status
- Coordinates home and community services with outside agencies
- Performing other related activities as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing that is registered with the BCCNM and licensed to practice in the Province of British Columbia
- Three to five years recent experience as a Home and Community Care Nurse
- Ability to adapt clinical and professional skills to the home and community environments
- Must be in good health and physically able to move (sit, stand, bend and lift) intermittently throughout the workday – lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 22 kilograms (50 lbs)
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Secwépemc culture is an asset, acknowledges cultural differences and supports diversity
Additional Requirements:
- Current CPR/First Aid certification for Health Care Providers
- Criminal Records Check (vulnerable sector) will be required
- Possess valid British Columbia driver’s license and submit current drivers abstract

Receptionist

Purpose:
To work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team by performing routine procedures necessary for the successful day-to-day operations of a fast-paced medical clinic.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional presence at the front desk at all times, greet clients upon arrival, sign them in and obtain any further necessary data as directed
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
- Scheduling client appointments, confirming appointments, and client reminder calls
- Ensures reception and waiting area is sanitized, tidy and presentable
- Performs administrative tasks, such as distributing mail and deliveries, updating calendars, maintaining office supplies and inventory of stock
- Performs other clerical reception duties such as filing, photocopying, postings for the website and other social media platforms
- Provides additional administrative support as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of one (1) year reception/administrative experience in an office or clinic setting
- Ability to use a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word and other similar Microsoft applications
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Medical receptionist and electronic medical records experience would be an asset
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
- Knowledge of Secwépemc culture is an asset, acknowledges cultural differences and supports diversity
Additional Requirements:
- Possess valid British Columbia driver’s license with reliable transportation and the submission of a current drivers abstract
- Criminal Records Check (vulnerable sector) will be required
